pic from the past
old one.....
sometime in the late 80's, this honda ad caught my attention, don't know what it was about it but i color-photocopied it and kept it with me...recently i had it mounted on a frame and this one is now hanging in the living room....i find each plate to be interesting and it is good fun to ask the kids to guess what a particular plate says....

Just thought of one I see in town sometimes, very obvious but amuses me "MemSaab"
have you caught a glimpse of people driving the car..must be desi...personalized plates are rare in karachi...there is a lot of poetry on richshaws, taxis, pickup trucks etc....truck art is now guite an industry....one recent punjabi quote was interesting... kadi kadi tay milya kar...duniya day kum naeen mukday :)
Cheers Naveed
No, not desi - older white woman, husband must be desi ,I guess). Personalized plates are very common in Virginia, I think because they are quite inexpensive, and it's a bit of a hobby for me:)too many wishful ones 'o2b30' or 'o2brch' can be found in our work parking deck.Love your rickshaw poetry.
This is off topic, but, if you use Windows media player, go to the media guide and search for cake. There is a live radio show (2002) from Atlanta and four songs from their latest album. I am not impressed with these.
Here, let's go on topic, tell your kids about this plate I saw today 'Meeooww':)
that is cute.!! Will give the Windows Media Player a try. Have tried listening to NPR on it and the experience was surreal. Reminded me of listening to Jazz on NPR in what now seems like another lifetime :) Naveed
I tried the radio show and it keeps breaking up and I do have a fast connection at home, but the individual songs are coming through fine. Gives you a flavor of their music but not too good.
NPR and Jazz - I don't go there - Alt Rock and Metal for me still;)
