while the guy in the grave gently weeps

this is from bbc online news......is funny bizzare and sad written all over it...maybe it says "only in america" as well

Lyrical US judge's poetic ruling : The Beatles wrote many of the world's best-known love songsAn American judge has proved that even the law can be lyrical.

Ruling on a case of medical malpractice being heard in New York, Judge Roberto Gigante parodied one of The Beatles' most famous love songs, "Something".

On trial was doctor Gil Lederman, famous for having asked dying Beatle George Harrison, the song's author, to sign a guitar for his teenage son.

The guitar became the subject of a legal wrangle and was eventually returned to Harrison's family.

But, according to the Press Association news agency, the doctor claimed his name has been so tarnished by adverse publicity that the trial should be moved elsewhere. Poetic justice?

The Judge agreed, pronouncing his ruling "with apologies to the late George Harrison" thus:

"Something in the folks he treats
Attracts bad press like no other doctor
He's in our jurisdiction now
He gets Beatle autographs somehow
And all I have to do is move this trial
Somewhere they don't know George Harrison
If this case I were to keep
Defendant would gently weep."

The case has now been moved to the New York state capital, Albany.

The family who are taking Dr Lederman to court have protested, calling the decision "offensive" and saying they will appeal against the ruling.

Their lawyer, Steven North, pointed out: "I think they know George Harrison in Albany too."

"The Beatles wrote many of the world's best-known love songs"
That explains why I can't stand the Beatles - sappy junk that they wrote. So 'I am the Walrus' is a love song?
Helloo - I sense another war brewing and Naveed going into a major tailspin :)

I do not agree that this one would boil down to a war of words...simply because "I am the Walrus" is not a love song...you really do not want me to find holes in the incubus or beck lyrics because one can always find occasional lows that one must ignore...all in the name of creative license that we give to our musicians...i was listening to Chinese Happy People on my way home and I was stuck in complete madness on the main avenue and I could not really care if Micheal Stipes had a re-think or regret over the song...the multi layered string sound is pretty ok especially when you look in the rearview mirror and see crazy people all around you....atleast it does not feature the exceedingly annoying "guy?" of the B52s on the track....(the one who is lead vocals on the very forgetable "love shack"

Ok, we can then argue about whether we shall have a war or not:)
Yes, please find holes in Incubus or Beck lyrics, that means you will have to buy their albums and one of my missions will be accomplished. Anyway, I think Beck uses a random lyric generator so holes aplenty exist there. I don't think I know any B52 songs actually, so might have to pull up the one you mentioned.
