the paradise that was phuket...srilanka

i have fond memories of srilanka....the first visit in 1982 was magical...lush green countryside and white sandy beaches.....people very humble courteous...it was a treat to visit this beautful country....

ditto for phuket.......from the entire group comprising of my colleagues and their families....my wife caught the biggest tuna fish off the phuket coast.....

soaking in the sun on top of the fishing boat....lazing around...taking in the aroma of the fresh seafood being prepared thai style and loving every moment....

the worst nightmare has come true......these memories and precious lives washed away in the aftermath of the earthquake...innocent unsuspecting victims pitched against the merciless forces of nature.... if there is any meaning to this loss of life then i look skywards and wonder...
