a whole new world

what was one of the shortest trips to HMV turned out to be the most fruitful one...the city map was followed religiously and the walk was not more than 15 minutes...the selection has been the best that i have purchased so far...so here goes an early report-card of the 4 albums after briefly listening to all the tracks...cake's comfort eagle is terrific...walter you can gloat all you want, you deserve it...i really do like it, it is quite a fresh, terrific arrangement of instruments...elliot smith's xo is typical elliot smith i suppose...a good find but you have to be in a certain mood...after listening to it, i have been searching for the good will hunting sound track....now it is really time for walter to give a big pat on the back, california guitar trio is surreal, this is so not what i was expecting which is multilayered rock guitar sound for some reason...but this is awesome...so thanks are in order...jeff buckley was recommended by sepoy (www.chapatimystery.com) and this album is just terrific, such bad luck that two out of the four albums are from singers who are no more...

"multilayered rock guitar sound for some reason..."
Ha, little brother, you thought my music choices were just one dimensional? You done me wrong but I have been so redeemed now:)
So does DW love me too now?
And which Cake song did you like the best?

will get back to you on cake, dw had to leave for london in a rush, the very next day that i returned, her father undergoing surgery today, so excitement of sharing the going-ons related to work will be shared with her when she returns this weekend...i start the new role next month but fortunately the boss made the announcement in front of all the senior managers...i hate that i was doubting him..lets just say that we may have cultural differences which are fine but the guy is professional to the core...again i always love working for people who have to add value and content of their own rather than being messengers or feeding off the enerygy of others...i have had the good fortune of having the best friends from south india and it seems that this pattern has to take a whole new dimension because i have already crossed the line of this boss-subordinate thingie and have already started giving him my "let me be the devil's advocate" thing which he likes a lot because he enjoys being the troubleshooter or atleast makes sincere effort at thinking aloud.. but i promise that i would get back to you on the favourite track since dw's absence leaves me with empty spaces to stare at and cake should come to the rescue...i do miss her from a new dimension ....that i have to be nurturer to the little ones means that i appreciate the rock that she is for them and for me...i hear the audience audience go aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :)

Audience hears violins playing :)
So now, you finally get to play Mr. Mom - do you have to cook, clean and bring the kids to school as well? Hope you do:)
As I like to say, motherhood is not for wimps.
You understand now why I envied you having a dw?
At least it is warm there, and she will be back by Valentine's day :)
Thanks for the work update. I am glad things are turning out well.

i think i have been a good mr. mom so far..the little one says "i did a math sum wrong and the teacher was not happy and she came very close to me and i thought she is going to hit me"...so i ask "did she hit you sweet heart"...."well no she just asked about mom and how long she is gone for" she adds....i probe her further "you sure there is nothing else"..."no she did not...i just miss mom" and she bursts out into tears...it was easy to console her and easier still to convince her that weekend is just round the corner...yes it is a tough thing being mr. mom and being the real one would be an emotional roller coaster...all credit to you and dw :) only a woman could do it...men are cowards we want to cop out of this responsibility...at first opportunity we go out of the cave to hunt not for survival but sheer escape and the rest is all woman...

Oh no, you made my blood boil!
No, not because of your narcissistic claim about having been a good Mr. Mom so far:)
But the fact that the little one was scared that the teacher might hit her because of a math error. I did not know they were still allowed to punish the kids that way.
Poor baby (NO NO, NOT you, the little one) - I am enraged.
Anyway, good luck the rest of the week.
(My fav. track is comfort eagle - am listening to it now:)

at school, they are not supposed to hit any child which is why i repeatedly asked her to tell me if anyone did...even at home, we makes sure that the force of our vocal chords compensates for any physical punishment...at worst it is the typical "go stand in the corner" thing which is interesting because that one is a spectical to watch...they, red faced, facing the wall, making lazy gestures :)....i want to do justice to cake...will give it a thorough 'listen' and revert to you on the best track...

1. You have started to use some of my expressions :)
2. Brentosaurus has listened to the first half of the DA album and has a very positive initial first reaction. Will tell you more as he tells me. He also opined that it really wasn't my type but I know I listened to it in a hurry and will give it another listen when he is done with it.

but you mentioned that brentosaurus pretty much likes every thing so liking the first half of DA can't be that good...in any case, i am glad he enjoyed it..i have had the tape/cd for last several years and come back to it frequently...

No, even he will draw the line somewhere - as on Incubus:) Anyway, he and I are both sort of getting into country music - Van Lear Rose - I think I sent you a link. He also suggested Belle and Sebastian for you.
Best line I read in Rolling Stone last week "Maroon 5, Grammy 0" :)
