baba bullay shah - part 2

hi ejaz.....the link for "bulla kee jana main koon" is available on www.coolgoose.com...
signup is required and then you must search for "rabbi shergill"...

I got the track after repeated attempts as traffic is high...the track is about 4MB and the more I listen to the track the more its simplicity impresses me…the only negative part is that like other downloads, you hear more instrumentation than vocals….but i am quite sure that the CD would be ok....

About MHB’s cover of amrita preetam’s haunting and relevant “aj aakhaan warish shah noon”….i see what you mean people not getting it.....

…..ignorance breeds ignorance and who cares if they do not get it…I understood it perfectly the first time just fine…infact I find it to be the best track of the album….the reason I do not blame them for leaving out some parts of the original poem is that artists should be allowed this creative control….just as not every shaer of a ghazal is covered by our masters

credit also goes to MHB because, quite simply, no one else has covered this poem….atleast not that I know of….

lastly, there is a difference i think when you say "bullay-ya kee jana main koon" (junoon) and "bulla kee jana main koon" (rabbit shergill)....rabbi is closer to the original..."bulla" is bullay shah addressing himself whereas "bullay-ya" is the singer addressing bullay shah...changes the whole meaning i think....if i have understood this subtle difference in pronunciation
